From The Catalog
So, the most glorious explore last Saturday was this little house.
I spotted it as were driving home, BLH had declared it time to head south after the car got stuck and he had to push… I didn’t complain, he wasn’t wrong.
But, once the house was in my sights, Cincinnati would have to wait.
The house was wonderful!! There were antiques that had once been fantastic, now they were sad and deteriorating in the gloom of that little house.
After we had explored the interior of the house, we were wandering around the outside, when a truck pulled up. “We’re busted” I said.
A guy in a cammo shirt exited the truck and began to walk toward us “Can I help you with something?”
I began to walk in his direction as I held the camera out “I was just taking photos, I LOVE old houses.”
“Oh, well be careful” he said.
“How long since anyone has lived here” I asked.
“Probably 15 years.” I think it was longer, there wasn’t a bathroom.
“This is a Sears and Roebuck house, they brought it in on a train car and set it up” he told us.
I searched for the Sears houseplan for that house, was only able to find one that was similar, our house was turned about 80 degrees and lacked a bathroom.
